Setup The Pilot HotSync Manager

The Pilot HotSync Manager will need to be configured to allow the Pilot to 'know' what to synchronise with.

The Netscape Calendar Link only provides links to two of the Pilot in-built applications.

These are the Calendar / DateBook function and the Tasks or ToDo List.

Caution: If you do these steps before running a HotSync to install the Link program the sync will not work the first time.

This is because the HotSync Manager program does its application synchronising before it installs new Pilot applications.

The first HotSync that you do will not synchronise with your Netscape Calendar. So for preference please run a HotSync immediately after installing the Netscape Link program and before doing this step.

Start HotSync Manager menu from the StartBar (I am assuming a Win95 interface)

Win95 StartBar Image

Click on the HotSync Manager Icon (The round one with red & blue arrow heads!).

Select 'Custom' from the menu.

HotSync Menu

Select the Date Book option and click on the Change button

HotSync Custom Prompt

Within the Change Screen select the appropriate option - Do Nothing & Set as Default.

HotSync Date Options Setting

Why ?

Because you do not want the Palm Pilot Manager to continue synchronising information with the Pilot Desktop Program. (At least that is what we assume ?)

Click on OK ! Now repeat the above for the Task List option. (The screen is almost identical).

Close the HotSync Manager Custom prompt (Click on 'Done')and you're ready for the next step.
