• There are a number of typical system configurations that we use for system group administered computers.

• If you need some software on a specific machine, it can be installed in a number of ways.

• Because all machines must and will be rebooted from time to time (e.g. because of updates, power- or network-reconfiguration), you should prepare/configure yourself and your processes such that they are able to survive reboots of machines they do not really depend on.

• Machines in a maintenance window schema are not rebooted unless on scheduled maintenance window days.
